The Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed was recently welcomed to South Hook LNG, taking the opportunity to discuss the Terminal’s operational activities, as well as the Company’s work with communities across Pembrokeshire.
As Her Majesty’s representative, the Lord Lieutenant’s visit comes just over a decade after The Queen joined His Highness the Emir of Qatar at the official inauguration of South Hook.
In that time, the facility has demonstrated its importance to the UK’s energy resilience, by safely processing over two thirds of the natural gas imported into the UK, used to provide energy to homes, businesses and industry across the country.
“We are delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant to the Terminal” said Hamad Al Samra, South Hook LNG’s General Manager. “Her interest in the operational activities at the Terminal, our role in supporting the energy needs of the country as well as our engagement with local communities, is very much appreciated.”
Commenting on her visit to the Terminal, the Lord Lieutenant said, “Ten years after Her Majesty The Queen and His Highness the Emir of Qatar performed the official inauguration of South Hook, I am very pleased to be here in person at the beginning of a new decade and to hear first-hand of the continued success of operations and the extent of the company’s commitment to communities across Pembrokeshire. I wish you all happiness and success for the future”.
