The South Hook LNG Staff Participation Programme continues to support the many volunteers and fundraisers across the Company, committed to raising much needed funds for their chosen community groups. Fourteen community organisations across Pembrokeshire have recently benefitted from the Company’s scheme.
 
Community groups, including sports clubs, charities and schools’ Friends Associations, have received match funding as individuals working at the Terminal willingly gave up their evenings and weekends, either volunteering or fundraising for a cause close to their hearts.

Mariam Dalziel, South Hook LNG PR Manager said, “Our volunteers gave up an impressive 420 hours of their free time last year and money raised through the Company’s match funding, has contributed to everything from safety and sports equipment to fundraising and wellbeing events. We are very proud of all our volunteers and fundraisers, dedicating so much time to so many worthwhile causes across our county.”

Community organisations that received support following efforts of South Hook LNG’s community volunteers, include Cleddau Reach School PFA and Templeton School PTA, Wiseman’s Bridge Rowing Club, Pembrokeshire Yacht Club, Neptune’s Army of Rubbish Collectors (NARC) and Haverfordwest Town Council, as well as a number of local rugby, football and golf clubs. Ty Hafan, Cancer Research UK, Mind Pembrokeshire and RNLI Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild, also received funds, due to match funding activities, successfully undertaken by the Company’s fundraisers.

Photo 2 – Milford Haven Golf Club, Juniors Section. Andrew Windsor – Operations said “The monies received from South Hook LNG have contributed towards the running of the junior golf academy through the winter months, encouraging the juniors continued involvement.

Photo 3 – Templeton CP School.  Alex Jones – Business Services, Treasurer for the school’s PTA said “It’s been a busy but productive year.  The school is very thankful to South Hook LNG for the donation which has helped to purchase bikes for children in the Foundation Year, helping to build strength, balance and co-ordination.”

Photo 4 – Haverfordwest Town Council: Soapbox Derby and Haverfordwest Festival Week. Jon Collier - Operations said “The financial contribution from South Hook LNG, helped fund the materials required for the event and the management and maintenance of the racecourse.”

Photo 5 – Hakin United Football Squad. Jamie Roberts - Operations said “The South Hook LNG donation really does make a difference to the development of young footballers and has enabled the Mini football section to provide the equipment needed.”
