A new weekly youth club is proving a popular attraction for youngsters at Milford Haven’s Mount Estate, following support from South Hook LNG’s Community Fund.
Making use of the Estate’s recently re-opened Community Centre, the youth club is organised by Steve Blunt of community interest charity, Young Life International. Having been going since March, the club is already providing a safe and informal environment for youngsters to meet socially, with activities focused on developing personal skills and encouraging a sense of wellbeing.
“It is our intention that the club focusses on the specific needs of local teenagers and young adults”, said Steve. “We want to create a sense of belonging and wellbeing in this part of the community.”
Any youngsters living at the Mount Estate are welcome to join the club, which meets at the Community Centre every Monday at 5:55pm.
The South Hook LNG Community Fund, in partnership with PAVS, helps Pembrokeshire communities through financial support. Details of how to apply for funding support can be found on the PAVS website (www.pavs.org.uk).
